Championship Wrestling Invades Australia
DAINTY CONSOLIDATED ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE
TOUR OF W.C.W. NITRO!
Turner
Network Television (TNT), World Championship Wrestling
(W.C.W) and Mr Paul Dainty, Chairman and Chief Executive
of Dainty Consolidated Entertainment, have reached
an agreement to bring the world’s most popular
live entertainment spectacular - WCW - to Australia
for the first time in a four city tour in October
this year.
The
W.C.W. “Nitro” and “Thunder” series,
the most regularly watched prime time wrestling events
on U.S. television, will be staged “live”
for Australian fans, for the first time, in four major
“stage spectaculars” in Melbourne, Sydney,
Brisbane & Perth.
In
another first, W.C.W. will produce the Australian
stage spectaculars for international television. The
“Nitro” and “Thunder –Downunder”
shows, will be beamed to millions of viewers throughout
North America, just a week after the Closing Ceremony
of the Sydney Olympics.
The
W.C.W. tour is expected to attract unprecedented ticket
demand. Hundreds of thousands of Australian fans have
been eagerly awaiting confirmation of the tour since
the beginning of the year.
The
incredible following this series has generated in
North America and Europe is expected to follow here
and ignite the same high level of energy and excitement.

show, the full American production, with all the big
stars of Nitro, is an extravaganza in every sense
of the word.
Significantly,
a selection of the Australian tour dates have been
chosen as “live” events for U.S. television,
so what Australian audiences can expect to see is
the full scale major production - and all the stars
who headline the W.C.W. series.
These
shows will feature incredible presentation, the unique
characters of the ring and no holds barred entertainment
that only W.C.W. Nitro can deliver.

will play for one night only in 4 cities – Brisbane,
Brisbane -Entertainment Centre on Saturday October
7, Sydney, Sydney Entertainment Centre on Monday October
9, Perth, at the Perth Dome on Wednesday October 11
and Melbourne, at Colonial Stadium on Friday October
13 (in a intimate horse shoe configuration)

WCW features the world renown wrestling superstars
such as Goldberg, Sting, Sid Vicious, Scott Steiner,
Booker T., Kevin Nash, Jeff Jarrett, and many, many
